Red chili powder – 1 teaspoon

Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon

Garam masala – 1/2 teaspoon

Salt – To taste

Oil – 2 tablespoons

Water – 4 cups

Coriander leaves – For garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Tikkadi (Rice Dumplings)

1. In a pan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon oil.

2. Reduce the heat and gradually add 1 cup of rice flour, stirring continuously to form a smooth dough.

3. Remove from heat and let the dough cool slightly. Knead it into a soft, pliable dough.

4. Shape the dough into small marble-sized balls. Set aside.

Step 2: Make the Mutton Bone Gravy

1. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pressure cooker or large pot. Add curry leaves and chopped onions. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.

2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté until the raw smell disappears.

3. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.

4. Add the mutton bones, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and sauté for 5 minutes.

5. Add 4 cups of water and pressure cook for 6-7 whistles (or cook in a pot until the mutton is tender).

Step 3: Cook the Tikkadi with Gravy

1. Once the mutton is cooked, open the pressure cooker and check the consistency of the gravy. It should be slightly thin to cook the dumplings.

2. Add the prepared rice dumplings (tikkadi) into the gravy. Stir gently to avoid breaking them.

3. Cover and cook on low heat for 10-12 minutes until the dumplings are soft and cooked through. Stir occasionally.

Step 4: Garnish and Serve

1. Add garam masala and mix well. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.

2. Serve hot as a wholesome meal.

This delicious and satisfying dish brings together the rich taste of mutton bone curry and the soft texture of rice dumplings, making it a family favorite!
